Clara Savannah White, 73, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born on October 30, 1934 in McLean, TX, the daughter of J.W. and Carrie S. Moore Henry. She lived most of her life in Topeka except from 1966-1968 where she had resided in Compton and Pasadena, CA. Clara was a CNA / LPN and was employed by Hillhaven Nursing Home. She was a member of the Church of the Living God, CWFF Temple No. 35, Missionary and Superintendent of Sunday School. Clara married Tommie White in 1957 at Lawrence. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Katherine L. Barrow, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia "Pat" M. Henry of Bakersfield, CA, two grandchildren, Dale L. Barrow and Kimiko A. Jackson-Henry, one sister, Cecil M. Thompson of Topeka and a host of extended family members, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Topeka Cemetery.
