Clarence A. Wulfkuhle, 89, of Berryton, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. He was born December 11, 1923 in Lawrence, the son of Arthur and Pearl Boehringer Wulfkuhle. He graduated from Berryton High School in 1941.
Clarence farmed, ran a dairy for 20 years and an egg factory for 15 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Berryton United Methodist Church, the Berryton Kiwanis Club. He served on the Monmouth Township Board for 25 years and the Berryton School Board.
Clarence married Doris Dickensheets on April 29, 1950 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on August 21, 2011. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Jeffery Cothran and three siblings, Lilly, Clayton and Clinton. Survivors include three children, Tom (Janet) Wulfkuhle of Berryton, Siri (Bill) Higgs of Berryton, and Bruce Wulfkuhle of Berryton, four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and his siblings, Erma Worley of Lawrence, Wayne Wulfkuhle of Tecumseh, Eula Butler of Wichita, Velma Howbert of Berryton and Lloyd Wulfkuhle of Lecompton.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Berryton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Clarence will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Pewnell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Berryton United Methodist Church, 7010 SE Berryton Rd., Berryton, KS 66409.
