Clarence "Duke" Freeman Jr., 84, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. He was born March 25, 1929 in Holton, Kansas, the son of Clarence L. and Beulah Fields Freeman.
Clarence was raised in Topeka and was a life long resident. He was married to his loving wife, Joyce for 57 years, until her passing on November 14, 2011. Duke retired from a career in maintenance with the U.S. Postal service and he was a member of the Moose Lodge in Topeka. He enjoyed woodworking and doing jigsaw puzzles. He loved books, music, and most of all, carrot cake!
Duke is survived by his 3 sons, Loren (Sherry), Dewey, and Leonard, all of Topeka; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
His life will be celebrated with a visitation held Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave.
