Clay Farrell Kutina, 48, of Hoyt, KS, formerly of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Mayetta, KS, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka. He was born March 11, 1963 in Ft. Scott, KS, the son of Clarence F. and Beverly (Schumm) McLaury.
Clay attended Royal Valley and Seaman High School, and later attended Washburn University. He was employed by Jack Pahmahmie, Sr. and Adriaan Deunick as a framing and trim carpenter, and was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Clay enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horseback riding.
Clay married Kerilee Atkinson on August, 12 1995 in Las Vegas, NE. She survives. He is also survived by his children, Kenneth Kutina (Maria), Ashleigh Woolbright (Jason), Jennifer Kutina, Zerul Kutina, Jerrad Kutina; his parents; brothers, Kirk Kutina (Pam), Todd McLaury (Zerlysa Atkinson), Jesse Kutina; sisters, Lori Bishop (Tom), Cindy Renyer, Amy Liable; granddaughter, Issabelle Kutina; grandparents, Martin and Caroline Schumm; God-parents, Richard and Claudia Schaus; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Kasey Alexander Kutina.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, August 11, at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave., Topeka, KS 66605.
