Cliff Sowers, 87, of Berryton, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born August 23, 1931 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Archie and Grace (Snodgrass) Sowers.
Cliff grew up in Leon, Kansas on his family's farm and graduated from Leon High School. He was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was a member of the Berryton Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Cliff married Barbara J. Smith on November 19, 1950 in Leon, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2004. He later married Betty Potter. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2017. He was also preceded in death by one son, Timothy "Tim" Sowers on August 24, 2018.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne Sowers of Fort Wayne, Indiana, two grandchildren, Valerie and Thomas, several great-grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, Clara Sowers and two step-sons.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606 or to the Berryton Baptist Church, 6741 SE Berryton Rd., Berryton, Kansas 66409.
