Cliffie E. Gerstner, 91, of Topeka, passed , Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Stormont-Vail.
Born May 25, 1914 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of William and Cliffie Pearl Enfield.
She was a graduate of Ft. Hays State Teachers College in 1944 and enjoyed teaching through out Kansas many years.
Cliffie received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Northeast Kansas Neighborhood Action Committee in 1984.
Cliffie was very active in the Topeka/Shawnee County Voters Election Board where she served as Election Judge and secretary.
She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and active with the Meals on Wheels Program through the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband,Clarence, of 33 years one brother and one sister. Survivors include three sons, Marion J. Gerstner, Valley Falls, KS; Ben Gerstner, Topeka, KS; Mark H. Gerstner, Wylie, TX; one sister Eleanor Herron, Arlington, TX; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park. She will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday and from 8:00 am until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
