Clifford Charles Nichols

Clifford C. Nichols, 72, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. He was born on April 28, 1936 and raised on a farm near Stull, KS. He was the only child of Amelia Wulfkuhle Nichols and Charles T. Nichols. After his father's death in 1954, he and his mother carried on the family farm and raised cattle. On March 11, 1962, he married Bonnie Steele Nichols with whom he celebrated 46 fun-filled years of marriage. Clifford leased the home farm acreage to a rock quarry in 1991. At this time, he moved to Topeka and has lived here 18 years. He truly loved farming and the cattle business for 47 years. Clifford was a member of Albert Neese Lodge No. 248 AF&AM and Countryside United Methodist Church. While a strong man, he experienced health problems the past few years and died from a rare type of leukemia. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, a daughter, Shirl, a son Thomas and his wife, Stephanie and two grandsons, Austin and Andrew. He loved his family and many wonderful friends. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, visits and outpouring of support. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Countryside United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will take place in Stull Cemetery at a later date.
