Clifford "Cliff" Eugene Long, Jr. 80, of Tecumseh, passed away on February 23, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born on January 2, 1941 to Clifford and Mae (Collins) Long in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Cliff worked as a Construction Worker his whole life, where he later retired from Jim Andrews Asphalt.
On October 23, 1960, he married Mary Wallace in Topeka at Clifford's parents' house.
Cliff was a member of South Knollwood Baptist Church, where he served in the church ministry as a Bus Driver and Teacher for 20 years. He loved all animals and everyone he would meet. Cliff enjoyed anything to do with being outdoors. You could always find him out in his garage tinkering around. Cliff would study his Bible every morning while drinking his cup of coffee. His family would say that he was a "self-taught preacher." He was a perfectionist with everything that he would work on. Cliff lived his life to the fullest all the way till the end. His neighborhood will never be the same.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, Eugenia Worthington, Shawn (Sheri) Long, Travis (Michelle) Long, LaDonna (Clyde) Trout; Siblings, Vivian (Johnny) Williams, Keith Long, Brenda (Mike) Singer; sister-in-law, Jody (Dave) Self and Brother In Law, Bob (Mary) Wallace; grandchildren, Courtney (Lance) McGhee, Joshua (Melissa) Long, Kari (Michael) Long, Shyanne Long, Alex Wixom, and Shalynn Long; and many great-grandchildren.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Dutch Long and Ronda Epp.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the South Knollwood Baptist Church, 1813 SW 29th St., Topeka, Kansas 66611. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the South Knollwood Baptist Church, CAT Association, or to Helping Hands Humane Society.
