Clifford L. "Kip" Corn, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at a Topeka care facility. He was born November 18, 1931 in Wamego, Kansas, the son of Cecil J. and Charmaine L. (Larson) Corn.
Kip graduated from Topeka High School in 1949. He enjoyed spending many summers with his grandparents in Wamego and working on his aunt and uncle's farm. He was a Navy Veteran during the Korean War. He was employed by the City of Topeka for over 35 years before retiring. Kip was a train enthusiast and enjoyed taking many photos of trains. He was a member of the Railroad Historical Society. He enjoyed fishing and building model cars and trains. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their various activities.
Kip married Yvonne Kay Nelson on June 18, 1950 in Iowa. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2017.
Survivors include two sons; Charles Larson (Kathy Britton) Corn of Clovis, New Mexico, Nelson Patrick Corn of Topeka, five grandchildren; Kelly (Brian Graham) Corn of Mesa, Arizona, Christy Corn of Clovis, New Mexico, Lisa (Alex) Collette of Topeka, Charles "Charlie" (Donna Hale) Corn, Jr. of Clovis, New Mexico and Aaron (Tish Williams) Corn of Topeka, seven great-grandchildren; Makahla (Christy), Kaden and Madisyn (Lisa), Sophia and Zoey (Aaron), Natalie and Charles Larson, III (Charlie), one great-great-granddaughter; Vaylis (Makahla) and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Cremation has taken place and as per Kip's wishes, no memorial services are planned. Private inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
