Clifford Delose Holiday, 91, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Clarkston, Michigan, passed from this life on Friday, March 11, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on December 20, 1919, the son of Cassius D. Holiday and Hazel O. Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael C. Holiday; a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Mae Cremer-McTigue; and four brothers, Floyd Holiday, Irving Holiday, Delmar Holiday and Orville Holiday. He married Mary Ellen Bailey on December 8, 1944 and they were married for 66 years. He is survived by Mary Ellen. Other survivors include; a daughter, Sandra (Ronald) Miracle of Clarkston, Michigan and their children Anna Scott and Richard Miracle; a daughter, Carol J. Noriega of Topeka, and her children Victoria (Luis) Noriega-Reyes, Chad (Rachel) Noriega, Elizabeth (Eli) Espinoza and Carla Espinoza; a son Darryl Holiday of Topeka and his son Jeremy (Maria) Holiday; a daughter,Barbara Stockwell of Manhattan, Kansas and her children Jeffrey (Melissa) Stockwell, Shannon Stockwell, Shelly Stockwell, Matthew Stockwell and Roger Stockwell; a daughter, Lori (Bryan) Cremer of Ortonville, Michigan and their children Alyssa Johnson, Samantha Cremer and Austin Cremer; and 24 great-grandchildren. Clifford was a veteran of World War II where he served as a medic. After briefly owning his own business, Clifford went on to work and then retire from General Motors. Clifford was a humble, kindhearted, and loyal man that loved his family, his country and God. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Services, 4020 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606 on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 1 p.m. The viewing will be held one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
