Clyde "Bud" Bicknell, 84, of Auburn, KS passed away, Sunday April 3, 2011.
He was born May 27, 1926 in Kansas City, MO the son of Clyde and Helen Bicknell. Clyde was a graduate of Highland Park High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard a minesweeper in the Pacific Theater during WW II. After 32 years of service he retired as Traffic Supervisor for Shawnee County. He then worked at Harrah's Prairie Band Casino.
Mr. Bicknell was a member of the V.F.W.
He married Geraldine "Gerrie" Wagner June 1, 1957. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Joyce (Todd) Rogers, Julie (Mark) Ross, Jennifer Hennes; two sisters, Lillian Vaughn, Laura Alexander; one brother, Edward Bicknell; eight grandchildren (Heather, Jeremy, Chelsey, Danielle, Wes, Jessica, Seth and Victoria) and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Doris Stockebrand.
Cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday April 8, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 S.W. Wanamaker Road. The family will greet friends beginning 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
