Clyde Dean Cohagen, 62, passed away Monday, February 20, 2006 at his residence in Topeka. Clyde was born June 20, 1943 in Rust Texas, the only son of Clyde and Marvelle McCagrin Cohagen. Clyde grew up in Arp Texas, where he graduated from High School, and later attended Tyler Community College in Tyler, TX. While living in Texas, Clyde was a Texas Ranger, and an avid drag racer. Clyde moved to Topeka in 1969, and on August 18, 1969 he married Dorothy A. Martin. She survives. Clyde had worked at Coca-Cola, Riley Equipment Company, and had worked for many years for the City of Topeka, WPC, as Chief Mechanic. Clyde was a history buff, enjoyed racing cars, and fishing. He is survived by his wife: Dorothy, of the home; sons, Jack, Buck and his wife Linda, Dallas, and Jay Cohagen, all of Topeka; daughters, Angela Cohagen, Cynthia McClain and her husband Marc, and April Cohagen, all of Topeka. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and his mother. Clyde was preceded in death by his father. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, with burial to follow at Auburn Cemetery. Mr. Cohagen will lie in state after 1:30 pm, Thursday, with a family visitation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Clyde D.
