Coleman Charles Roth (Chuck) of Topeka passed away peacefully Saturday August 7, 2021 surrounded by family and friends at Midland Hospice House.
Chuck was born January 6, 1932 in Eglon, West Virginia, the son of Paul and Lela Roth, one of ten children. He married his wife Patsy on May 10, 1957.
Chuck entered the Air Force shortly after high school. He retired in 1973 after 24 years of service to his country with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After his Air Force career he pursued a career in Real Estate for the next 20 years. He also owned his own excavating business. During this time he continued his passion for aviation by becoming a private pilot and owning several airplanes. Chuck and Pat retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas in 1992. While in Arkansas he became involved with the Civil Air Patrol serving as Squadron Commander and Mission Pilot. Six years later he was promoted to the position of Arkansas Wing Commander. After serving in that capacity for four years he retired for the final time returning back to Topeka.
Chuck is survived by his wife Patsy of 64 years, three sons, Glenn (Meredith), David, and Ronald (Michelle), six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by one sister, Marlene Taylor (Lowell) of Modesto, California.
The family will receive friends from 6:oo - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday August 11th at Dove Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. in Topeka, Kansas. A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 10 a.m. on August 12th at Mount Hope Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St. in Topeka, Kansas.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Midland Hospice House in Topeka or the Combat Air Museum at the Topeka Regional Airport.
