Connye Jo Clayton

Connye Jo Clayton, 60, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 19, 2021. She was born February 9, 1961, the first child born to Cecil and Josephine Clayton.
One of Connye's beliefs in life was to focus on your education and it will take you a long way in life for success. She earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Wayne County Community College in Detroit, Michigan. Connye Jo relocated back to Topeka and continued her education journey at Washburn University while working as a make-up artist. With her dedication to her education and due diligence, she received her Bachelor of Business Administration. She excelled in all aspects of her education remaining on the Dean's Honor Roll.
Connye Jo was a dedicated and devoted worker at Hill's Pet Nutrition Corporation as an IT site analyst for over 30 years until retiring in 2016.
After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her family, granddaughters and working out in her yard with her dog, Maggye always at her side.
Connye Jo is survived by her daughter, Reandelyn Clayton, granddaughters, Giavonni "Ladybug" Armstrong, Londyn Lee and three "My Girls" special daughters, NaSharra Thomas, Sharra Thomas and Cebreonza "Breezy" Clayton as well as her siblings, Cecil Clayton, Jr., Anthony "Tony" Whetstone-Jones, Arlean Nix, Beverly Nix, Gearlean Clayton, Dale (Mariam) Clayton, Yolanda (Alfred) Johnson, Rodney Clayton, Cynthia (Tim) White, Cecil "Junebug" Clayton, Jr., Evernesha Nix, Felisha Nix and Glennett Nix and a host of family, friends, extended family, co-workers and neighbors.
Connye Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Darita Johnson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery.
