Curtis Ray White, 87, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2007 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on October 14, 1920 in Sterling, KS, the son of Roy V. and Fern M. Proffett White. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He has resided in the Tecumseh community for the past 65 years. Curtis owned and operated Curtis White Construction from 1951-1986. He was of the Baptist faith. Curtis married Elsie "Madge" Bean on September 29, 1940 in Osage City. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Dennis Ray White and wife, Donna of Topeka, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Curtis will lie in state from 2:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
