Daniel B. "Danny" Hendrix, 56, of Topeka, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born September 21, 1958, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Clarence Phillip and Ella Marie (Faulk) Hendrix.
Danny was raised in Topeka, attended Topeka schools, and was employed by the Shawnee County Corrections JDC Department.
Danny is survived by his step-mother, Barbara Hendrix, Topeka; ex-wife, Sue Hendrix, Topeka; daughter, Melissa French, Topeka; son, Oscar Burton, Jr., Topeka; ex-wife, Kobi Hensley, Oregon; daughter, Syndel Hensley-Valle (Jesse), Oregon; son, Jonsey Hendrix (Natalie), Oregon; brother, Randy P. Hendrix (Jan), Shawnee; step-sister, Dorothy Lowhorn (Roy), Silver Lake; step-brother, Ken Faulter (Sue), Lee's Summit, and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Connie Magnum and step-sister, Cathy Johnson.
Danny will always be remembered for his kind and caring personality and his wonderful sense of humor. He also had a strong love of animals, especially his dogs.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2014, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 S.W. 6th Avenue, in Topeka. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
