Daniel Joseph Blindt

Daniel Joseph Blindt, 64, of Topeka passed away February 14, 2019 at The Peggy Kelly House with family beside him.

Dan was born February 26, 1954 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of the late Adrian and Frances (Schulte) Blindt.

He married Dana Lynn Loveland on March 18, 1974 in Rhode Island. Dan served 6 years in the Navy during Vietnam as a Seabee and received the National Defense Service Medal as a sharpshooter. After discharging from the Navy, Dan started his civilian career working on the Alaskan pipeline. Dan and Dana later moved to Keene, KS where they raised their three sons. He then worked as a drywall finisher with Midwest Company and later worked as a maintenance tech with the Youth Front Organization in Edgerton, KS.

Dan is survived by his wife Dana; sons, Daniel Blindt Jr (Dana), Benjamin Blindt (Michelle) and Kenneth Blindt; brothers, Gary Blindt (Nina), Thomas Blindt; sister Barbara Conley (Tom); and grandchildren, Tyler Blindt, Jacob Blindt, Christian Blindt, Bradley Blindt, Natalie Blindt, Abigail Blindt and Ellie Blindt. Preceding Dan in death are his parents and grandson, Maximus Blindt.

Honoring his request, cremation is planned. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW 17th St, Topeka KS. Private inurnment will be at Keene Cemetery, Keene, Kansas at a later date.
