Daniel P. Kimball, 71, of Topeka, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013. He was born July 20, 1942 in Lowell, MA, the son of Paul C. and Virginia (Connell) Kimball.
Dan grew up in Massachusetts until his parents moved to California during his high school years. He attended college before volunteering to serve his country during the Vietnam War. Dan joined the Air Force, earned the rank of Sergeant as a helicopter mechanic/crew chief, and served in Vietnam and Thailand. Following his service overseas, Dan returned to the States and was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in the Air Force Reserve until his separation in September of 1970. He worked as a service technician for Southwestern Bell/AT&T until his retirement in 2001.
Dan enjoyed Stamp Collecting, Coin Collecting, and computers.
Dan married Deborah Kay Kimball on February 22, 1986 in Topeka. She survives. He is also survived by 3 children: daughter, Christine R. Findahl; 2 sons, Charles A. Kimball and Jason P. Kimball; 2 step children, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A visitation to remember and celebrate Dan's life will be held from 3:00-5:00 pm, Friday, December 6th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66606.
