Daniel R. Gatewood

Daniel Ray Gatewood, 63 passed away at his home in Topeka, Kansas on September 23, 2013. He was born to Thelma Nichols Gatewood and Charles Gatewood on February 1, 1950 at a farm near Harveyville, Ks. He attended Seaman High School in Topeka.
Dan was united in marriage to Annie Owens of Eskridge, Ks. on April 2, 1971. Two children were born into this marriage. He was a professional dry wall finisher and was employed by several companies in Topeka. He was a member of the Painters and Finishers Local Union 96 until he retired. He also raised cattle and loved to spend many satisfying happy hours at his ranch near Council Grove, Ks.
Dan was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Daniel Gatewood, his parents, a sister, Roxanne Brown of Tecumseh, Ks. and two brothers, Richard and William Gatewood of Topeka.
Survivors include, his loving wife, Annie, a daughter Megan (Donnie) Wolfe, two grandsons Devin and Mason Wolfe, and a brother Charles (Judy) Gatewood, all of Topeka; 2 brothers, Larry (Patti) Gatewood of North Carolina, and Johnny (Peggy) Gatewood of California; and several nieces and nephews.
A cremation is planned and a memorial service will be held on Monday September 30, 2013, 2:00 pm, at Christ Lutheran Church 3509 SW Burlingame Rd. in Topeka, KS.
