Darlene (Swift) Williamson, 93, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at a Topeka hospital. She was born September 6, 1920 in Gentry Co., MO, the daughter of Elmer and Pearl Baker Rainey.
Darlene graduated from Topeka High School. She retired from Falley's Inc. She was an active member of Terra Heights Baptist Church.
Darlene married Lee Swift on February 17, 1940 in King City, MO. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1969. She later married LeRoy Williamson in July, 1981. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Mary Kay (Jerry) Holt of Social Circle, GA, Sue (Randy) Carrier of Topeka, four grandchildren, Jayme (Jason) Kyzer, Brandon Carrier, David (Beth) Holt and Whitney Carrier, and four great-grandchildren, Parker, Landon, Adelyn and Braxton. Darlene was preceded in death by her infant daughter.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Darlene will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at the funeral home.
