David E. Boger, 58, of Topeka, passed away on February, 26, 2016. David was born January, 12, 1958 in Springfield, IL, to Delmar Edsel Boger and Annie Ruth Savage Boger. The family moved to Topeka, June 1966. He graduated from Topeka West High School and attended Washburn University. He recently retired from Goodyear Tire after 38 years.
David was an accomplished guitar player and song writer. He loved writing short stories and telling jokes. He also enjoyed playing golf and softball.
He was formerly married to Sherry Donohoe. She survives along with his step-daughter, Dia Wallace, and step-granddaughter, Makenzie Moldenhauer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John E. Boger and nephew, Branden Hall.
Survivors include his twin brother Michael (Charlotte) Boger, of Manhattan, KS; sisters: Diane Needham and Sherry (Chuck) Scofield, both of Topeka, KS; an uncle, Larry (Judy) Boger, of Springfield, IL; nieces: Grace Needham, Drew Needham, Jenny (Brian) Lang, Lori (Mike) Tennyson, Lisa (Bryan) Hall all of Topeka, Danielle (Andrew) Finley, of Denton, TX, Jamie (Mitch) Lee, of Garland, TX and E-4 Specialist Dylan Needham, of Ft. Hood, TX; and his sister-in-law, Sharon Boger.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 8th at 11AM at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
