David E. Thompson, 72 of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on September 20, 2016. David was born to Otis L. and Blanch E. (Carleton) Thompson on October 14, 1943 at Adel, Iowa. He was raised in Charles City, Iowa and served in the US Army.
David's self-proclaimed profession was anything and everything anywhere. He lived in many different towns. He had worked as a dishwasher/handyman at Chic-A-Dee Café in Topeka since 2004 and boasted about his tenure. He enjoyed black powder guns, fishing, reading western books, listening to music, raising goats and meeting new people.
David is survived by his son, Nathan (Connie) Thompson; three daughters: Angie, Michelle and Carrie; five grandchildren; his sister, Rosemary (Earl) Dawson; his brother, Lyle Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Glenn Thompson, Albert Ray Thompson, Neal Thompson and Claude Thompson; and two sisters: Irene Miller and Doris Wilson.
A Celebration of Life was held in Topeka, Kansas followed by inurnment in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Iowa.
