David Mcintire
David L. McIntire, 54, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2007 following a long courageous battle with cancer.
David was born December 21, 1952 in Athens, Pennsylvania, the son of Louis and Joanne (Thompkins) McIntire. He graduated from Athens High School in 1970.
He joined the U.S. Coast Guard following graduation and served 27 years, retiring with the rank of YNC. After retirement, he continued working for the Coast Guard in the payroll department up until his death.
David married Deborah Marrotte on July 25, 1986 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include daughter; Rebecca Droegemueller and husband, David, Hutchinson; sons, Brandon Hofelt and wife, Brenna, Brent Hofelt, Michael McIntire, all of Topeka; granddaughters, Abigail and Anna Droegemueller, Hutchinson; mother, Joanne DeMartini; sister, Sue McCardell; and brother, Chuck McIntire, all of Storm Lake, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road.
