David Michael Kinsch

May 25, 1956 — December 29, 2014

David (Mike) Kinsch of Topeka passed away Monday, December 29. He was born May 25, 1956 in Parsons, Kansas to David L. and Virginia Kinsch. Mike attended Topeka public schools and found his passion for machine work in the machine shop at Topeka High. He graduated from Kaw Area Vo-Tech and spent several years at Allis Chalmers.

He then worked as an Instrument Maker in the Civil Engineering Dept. at KU in Lawrence. Mike was a gifted machinist and designed a machine for NASA to test soil density. Mike severely injured his back while at KU and was forced to leave the job he loved. In 2008 he was a stem cell donor for his sister Brenda. His children were the most important thing in his life. He loved classic black and white movies and was a WWII buff. Even though he lived in pain, he was witty and a great conversationalist. To close friends and family, he was known for giving great advice.

He is survived by his mother Virginia; sister Debbie; brothers Doug, Greg and John (Kathy); daughters Beth and Janelle; sons Jimi (Tiffanie), Logan and Jay; and three granddaughters Lillian, Jayde and Rozzallyn in whom he found so much joy. Mike was preceded in death by his father David and his sister Brenda. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Mike's life will be celebrated with a visitation held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
