Deann Kay Sanchez, 68, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015. She was born May 14, 1947, in Junction City, Kansas, the second of five children of Roy and Marvene Carlton.
Deann was raised in Alta Vista, Kansas where she attended grade school and high school.
Deann is survived by her six children, Jim Hueser and his wife, Christine of Lawrence, Kansas, Bobbie Hueser-Schmalz and her husband, Steve of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jerry McMains and his wife, Darci of Madrid, Iowa, Jonathan McMains of Perry, Iowa, Dustin McMains and his wife, Jennifer of Leadville, Colorado and Jeriann Sanchez of Topeka, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren, James, Aaron and Jessica Hueser; Shyanne, Cameron and Jason Schmalz, Emily and Angela McMains, Jacob and Kelsey McMains, and Spencer Glenn, Donoven and Austin Mainus; great-grandson, Anthony Hueser; step great-granddaughters, Dezirae Hall and Karisa Gulley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Phyllis Blanton and brother, Tod Carlton.
Deann's family will be celebrating her life at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 303 Main Street in Alta Vista from 4-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015 followed by a gathering at "The Local", also in Alta Vista.
