Debora "Debbie" Aldridge, 59, Topeka, joined her Father in heaven on Sunday, May 30, 2010.
Debbie was born March 5, 1951 in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Arlie and Elizabeth Olson. She graduated from School of the Osage at Lake Ozark, MO in 1969 and from Missouri Western College at St. Joseph, MO in 1973.
She began her teaching career at Helen Davis School in St. Joseph, MO. Debbie then devoted 14 years to raising her children while working as a Vet Tech in the Topeka area. She returned to teaching in 1992 as a Special Education Teacher in the USD-501 school district.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for many years but most recently Fellowship Bible Church.
As a lover of nature, Debbie and her family spent many vacations traveling throughout the United States.
Debbie married Larry J. Aldridge on December 18, 1976 in Hot Springs, AR. He survives. Other survivors include son, Brandon (Erin) Aldridge; daughter, Ashley (Justin) Rodgers; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Aldridge, Hannah and Grady Rodgers, all of Topeka; and mother, Elizabeth Olson, Osage Beach, MO. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Debbie will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
