Deborah Mcclelland

Deborah L. McClelland, 49, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at her residence. She was born on August 1, 1955 in Topeka, the daughter of Benjamin H. and Henrietta Kitchen McClelland, Jr. She graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Washburn University, Emporia State University and Butler County Community College. She was employed by Jostens Yearbook Company. Survivors include two daughters, Ashley McClelland and Elizabeth "Nickky" McClelland of Topeka, five brothers, Benjamin McClelland of Topeka, Glenn McClelland of Topeka, Dwight McClelland of Yuokusa, Japan, Daryl McClelland of San Diego, California, Michael McClelland of Topeka and one sister, Michelle Harris of Lawrence. She was preceded in death by one sister, Glenda Allison in 1996. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Deborah will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ashley McClelland Educational Fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E. Minnesota Ave., Topeka, Ks. 66605.
