Delbert William "Del" Lane, 86, Topeka, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at Midland Hospice House due to malignant brain tumors.
Del was born June 13, 1929 in Southgate, CA, the son of Alfred and Evelyn (Woodward) Lane. He graduated from Huntington Park High School, California in 1948.
He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
He was employed by Dowell Printing as a Newspaper pressman for over 20 years. He also owned and operated Trailane Kennels at Soldier, KS for 20 years and owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Bigfork, MT for 12 years.
He was a member of Downtown Topeka Farmer's Market for 16 years and the Lions Club of Soldier, KS.
He was an accomplished woodworker and well known for the items he made and sold at the Farmer's market

Del married Betty (Barnett) Lane on July 15, 1950 in Huntington Park, CA. His wife of 65 years survives. Other survivors include sons, Jeffrey (Margie) Lane, Mayetta, Larry (Jamie) Lane, Topeka; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Stanley Lane.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Dove Cremation and Funeral Service. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
