Delia Rosa (Palma) Davis, 82, of Topeka, died Saturday, November 10, 2012. She was born June 30, 1930 in Barranquilla, Colombia S. A., the daughter of Victor and Rita Palma.
Delia was raised In Barranquilla and was the youngest of 12 children. After graduating business school, she worked as a secretary for Ley department store in Barranquilla. She married Gerald F. "Jerry" Davis on August 27, 1950 at Fort Clayton, Panama C.Z. Delia was a home maker most of her life. She also was self-employed for several years as an upholsterer. Her business' name was Mrs. Sew & Sew. She was an active volunteer at Assumption and Hayden schools, and she enjoyed sewing and upholstery work.
Delia is survived by her husband Jerry; children, Margaret Davis, South Bend, IN, Susan Davis, Topeka, Fred Davis, Buffalo, WY, Evelyn Blaine, Shawnee, KS; sister, Ami Hoggard, South Bend, IN; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.
Delia was cremated and a private family service was held. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Blaine, KS.
