Dennis A. Smith, 65, Topeka, passed away September 14, 2013, at his home, after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born October 5, 1947, in Coffeyville, the son of Monroe M. and Alpha N. Stinson Smith.
He was a 1965 graduate of Field Kinley High School in Coffeyville and later graduated from Pittsburg State with degrees in marketing and accounting. He was a 27 year employee of AH Robins/Wyeth Pharmaceutical Companies, retiring in 2001.
Dennis was a Mustang and classic car enthusiast, attending KAW Valley Technical School to study automobile restoration. He was a proud grandfather and a fan of the Capital Mudcats and Capital City Hooks.
In 1970, he married Loretta Macioce in Pittsburgh, PA. She survives. He is also survived by his mother, Alpha; daughters, Melanie (Chad) Brown, of Topeka, and Stephanie (Nate) Little, of Kansas City, MO; and grandsons, Caleb and Cooper Brown. He was preceded in death by his father, Monroe "Smitty" Smith.
