Dennis James Reser

Dennis James Reser, 50, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on August 12, 1958 in Topeka, the son of Robert N. and Janet L. Bower Reser. He graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1976. Dennis was employed by KPL for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodcarving and making jewelry. He also was an avid KU and Chiefs fan. Dennis married Patricia L. Smith. She survives. Other survivors include his parents, Robert and Janet Reser of Tecumseh, his siblings, Rickie (Sally) Reser of Topeka, David (Lisa) Reser of Overbrook, Mark "Toad" (Pam) Reser of Topeka, three nieces, Jordan Reser, Ariel Reser, Harli Reser and three nephews, Garrett Reser, C.J. Reser and James Allen and his aunt, uncle and several cousins. He was preceded in death by one niece, Christine Allen and one nephew, Ian Reser. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Dennis will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Dennis James Reser Memorial Fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E.
