Dixie L. (Brault) Jones, 57, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at her residence after a battle with cancer.
Dixie was born November 8, 1951 in Topeka, the daughter of Edward and Arlene (Bedell) Brault. She attended Highland Park High School.
She lived in Omaha, Nebraska for many years, returning to Topeka in 2005.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where she served as an Administrative Assistant and was a member of the Stephen Ministry group.
Her hobbies were cooking, gardening and spending time with her dog, "Disco".
Dixie married Michael R. Jones on July 7, 1986. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2005. Survivors include step-sons, Nicholas Jones, Colorado Springs, CO, Anthony Jones, Omaha, NE; five step-grandchildren; sisters, Dianna Daugherty, Topeka, Ronda Miller, Clifton Heights, PA, Kimberly Bean, Topeka; brother, Thomas Brault, Kenneth Square, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Dixie will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, after 2:00 p.m. on Friday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
