Don passed away peacefully on October 30, 2017 with family by his side. His wife, Galena, passed away in January 2013 after 66 years of marriage. A day never went by without him asking about her. We will miss you, but know you are with mom now.
He served in the Navy from 1944-1947 as a Ships Cook Third Class. He served on the USS Suison, USS LSM, USS Topeka and USS Springfield. Ribbons earned were: World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal and American Area Medal.
Don is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Bill) Milligan, son, Donald (Cathy) Jr., four grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. A granddaughter preceded him in death.
Don retired from his printing business, Easy Print Printing in 2007.
Don was cremated and the family will hold a private graveside service.
Memorial contributions should be made to Midland Care Connection, 200 Frazier Topeka, Kansas 66606, for the Residential Center. This has been Don's home for the last seven years.
