Donald Eugene Armstrong

Donald Eugene Armstrong, Sr. was called home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning September 18, 2019 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka KS with several loving family members at his side. He was born on April 19, 1952 in Independence, Kansas to Katherine (Byrd) and Robert Armstrong.

Donald confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of The New Beginning Baptist Church in Topeka, KS

Donald was a hard working family man, he worked for several Trucking Companies as a OTR Driver. Through many states he enjoyed his travels where he met many people he called friends. He was also a School Bus Driver in Topeka where he was known as "Mr. Don" to his students.

Donald had a voice you could hear down the hall and a spirit you would embrace with a hug, a cool guy smile, and a very giving heart. He also had another name used in his family, the grandkids called him Papa Don! He had special qualities that's for sure!

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Diane Pittman-Armstrong, two sons; Wykeen and Donald Jr., three daughters; Rachel, Stacy, Kimberly, five sisters; Shirlene, Joyce, Linda, Janice and Jeanne, three brothers; Roger, Michael, and Charles. Also to cherish his memory are Verna (Allen) Armstrong-Quarles and Janice Stewart. Donald also leaves 31 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren as well as a host of friends and relatives.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers; Bobby and LC, and his niece Shaneek McClain.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Dove Cremations & Funerals Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka.
