Donald B. Case, 87, of Topeka, died Friday, July 29, 2011 at Aldersgate Village. He was born May 1, 1924 in Cape Girardeau, MO, the son of Emmitt and Belle (Browning) Case.
Donald was a native Missourian, but spent most of his life in Kansas. He had a broad background geographically and musically. From early 1943 to 1945, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II, and was stationed in the South Pacific as a radio operator aboard a B-24. His musical background was diverse and extensive. He studied piano, violin and voice; was a member of several orchestras and choirs; and worked for nearly 40 years as a teacher and print music coordinator for Hume Music.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, August 8, 2011 at West Side Christian Church. Private inurnment will be at Armstrong-Case Cemetery near Atchison. Memorial contributions may be made to the music department at West Side Christian Church, 432 SW Lindenwood Ave. Topeka, KS 66606.
