Donald "Dean" King, 82, Topeka, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on August 10, 1930, in Abilene, Kansas, to Howard B. and Loretta (Knox) King.
After graduating from Horton High School in 1948, Dean worked for Reeves-Wiedeman Plumbing Company for 35 years as a salesman before retiring. He later became a procurement officer with Community Action, Inc. for 18 years. He was a member of West Side Christian Church.
He married Margaret Ann Campbell in 1954; she preceded him in death in 1967. He later married Judith Ann Jones in 1968, who survives. Other survivors include 4 sons; Stephen (Jeanette) King of Overbrook; Gerald (Denise) King of Topeka, David (Diane) King of Jefferson City, MO; Frank (Suzie) King of Lenexa, KS; one daughter, Linda Remillard of Cheney, KS; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Also preceding him in death were his daughter, Cynthia D King, and his sister JoAnn Knepper.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the West Side Christian Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the church. Dove Cremation & Funeral Services is assisting with the arrangements.
