Donald G. "Don" Cox, 89, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. He was born May 15, 1935 in Marshall, Missouri, the son of William R. and Lydia L. (Driskell) Cox.
Don graduated from Marshall High School in 1954. He served in the US Navy during the latter part of the Korean War from 1954 - 1958. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northwest Missouri State University and a Master's Degree in Administration from Emporia State University. He was employed by Topeka School District USD 501, where he taught Industrial Education at Highland Park High School for eight years before moving into an Administration roll at Kaw Area Technical School. He retired in June 1995.
Don received recognition and awards during his tenure in the US Navy and while employed by USD 501. He was a founding member of the Southwest Kiwanis Club of Topeka.
Don married Donna J. Seibert on August 14, 1960 in Marshall, Missouri. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2004.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah D'Ann (John) of Topeka and his granddaughter, Jamie Nicole of Dallas, Texas.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
