Donald Duane Reeves

Donald Duane Reeves, 82, of Topeka, passed away Friday, December 25th, surrounded by family at Midland Care Hospice House. The son of Shively and Lillie Jo Reeves was born on May 29, 1933 in Topeka. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1951.

Don served his country in the Army. Following his service, he worked construction with his dad and brothers for many years. He worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber plant in 1965 and retired after 37 years.

Don enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and friends, and loved his family most of all.

Don married Jessie L. Davis on April 8, 1956 in Topeka. She survives. He is also survived by his two children; son, Donald E. Reeves (Denise) and daughter, Pattie Fincham; five granddaughters, Jody Scott, Christy Reeves, Sherry Fagan (John), Cindy Williams (Eric) and Laurie Fincham; ten great-grandchildren (five boys & five girls) and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters and son-in-law, Daniel Fincham.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday December 31st at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Avenue in Topeka. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Penwell Gabel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice House at Midland Care.
