Donald Lee "Don" Flood, 89, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
He was born September 8, 1929, in Wayne, Kansas, the son of Olaf and Gladys (Way) Flood. He was a 1947 graduate of Frankfort High School, Frankfort, Kansas.
Don was employed by the Topeka Capital Journal Newspaper as a printer, for 38 years, retiring in 1991.
He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and later a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, and Moose Lodge No. 555 all of Topeka.
Don married Dorothy G. Lauer on June 28, 1949 at Annunciation Catholic Parish in Frankfort, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Vicki (Terry) Noordsy, Elizabeth City, NC; eight grandchildren, Amy (Ty) Boyles, Topeka,KS, Chelsea (Brian) Williamson, Elizabeth City, NC, Schawna (George) Crichton, Pensacola, FL, Krystal (Sam) Sanders, Seattle, WA, Mason Noordsy, Elizabeth City, NC, Dillon (Lauren) Napier, Madison, TN, Trenton (Chelsi) Flood, Pensacola, FL, and Donnie Napier, Smyrna, TN; 17 great-grandchildren, Andrea (Allan) McFarland, Austin Boyles, Hannah Williamson, Alassandra Gournaris, Esmeralda Gournaris, Victoria Williamson, Mackenzie Flood, Amelia Crichton, Alexis Williamson, Adrian Napier, Nathaniel Williamson, Seraphina Sanders, Killian Crichton, Lillianna Sanders, Rowan Crichton, Camille Flood & Talon Flood; and a brother, Robert (Mary) Flood, Surprise, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terrance Lee Flood; and a daughter, Lisa Mae Napier.
Don had a great sense of humor and loved to spend time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and provider, who loved to dance, enjoyed woodworking, gardening (especially tomato plants) working in his yard, and going to the casino. He was also an avid KU Basketball, Kansas City Royals and Chiefs Fan.
Honoring his request, cremation is planned. No services are scheduled. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
