Donald L. Villeme, 88, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016.
He was born November 20, 1927 in Lillis, Kansas, the son of Fred and Nellie (Butler) Villeme.
He was a graduate of Frankfort High School and Bachelor's and Master's Degree at Kansas State University and Specialist Degree from Emporia State University.
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was active Army Reserve until retiring attaining the rank of Colonel.
Donald was a Teacher, Counselor, Coach and later at Principal for USD 501 in Topeka, retiring 1992.
He served as Camp Director at Camp Hammond for the YMCA and served on the Board of Directors of Education Credit Union.
Donald married Charlotte E. Harry on May 27, 1951. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2015. Survivors include daughter, Pamela Villeme; and grandson, Kevin Strattan, both of Overland Park; and a brother, Melvin Villeme, Tampa, FL. He was preceded in death by a son, Dana Villeme; a twin brother, Raymond Villeme and a brother John Villeme.
Donald enjoyed educating children, coaching, sports, stamp collecting, Lionel Train collecting, woodworking and the outdoors.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Interment with military honors conducted by Ft. Riley Funeral Detail will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
