Donald R. "Rocky" Evans, 54, of Topeka, formerly of Lee's Summit, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
He was born February 1, 1955 in Webb City, MO, the son of Robert D. and Carol (Shaw) Evans. He attended Raytown, MO Schools. He was a graduate of MMI in Phoenix, AZ.
He owned and operated Rockmonsters in Topeka. He was currently employed by WPC through the City of Topeka.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and he was a motorcycle enthusiast. His proudest hunting accomplishment was being recognized in the Buckmasters Magazine. He also pieced together a1947 Knucklehead Custom Motorcycle.
Survivors include his parents, of Lee's Summit, MO; his girlfriend, Kris Sutterfield, of Topeka; his "boys", Storm and Eli of the home; sisters, Teresa Myers, Eva Cason (Ted), and Bonnie Robinson, all of Lee's Summit; brother, Randy Evans, K.C., MO.
Funeral services will be 5 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Western Hills Baptist Church, 2900 SW Auburn Rd., Topeka, KS 66614-4911. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside services and interment will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee's Summit, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to BACA, P.O.19186, Topeka, KS 66619. Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, Topeka is assisting the family.
