Donald R. Rundquist, 59, of Topeka, passed away on December 11, 2010. He was born in Clay Center, KS, on July 22, 1951, the son of Veryl and Dorthy (Lindstrom) Rundquist. Donald was raised in Green, KS, and graduated from Blue Valley High School in Randolph, KS, in 1969. On June 10, 1972, in Alma, KS, he married Debra Richter. She survives. Until his retirement in 2005, Donald worked as an automotive technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and shooting pool, and had coached baseball and softball for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Rundquist; children, Mindy Atkins and Wade Rundquist; parents, Veryl (Dorthy) Rundquist; sisters, Mary (Greg) Bell and Dorrene (Bernie) Peterson; brothers, Dave (Donna) Rundquist and Steve (Karen) Rundquist; brothers-in-law, Doug Richter and Ryan (Elly) Richter; and sister-in-law, Karla Richter.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church, 17th & Gage, Topeka. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donald R. Rundquist Memorial Fund c/o Capital City Bank, P.O. Box 1433, Topeka, KS 66601-1433, to be used toward various charities.
