Donald Smith

Donald S. "Don" Smith, 82, Topeka, passed away Thur., Aug. 20, 2009, at Midland Care Hospice House. He was born in Kaukauna, WI on Dec. 14, 1926, the son of Claude and Agnes (Nogaj) Smith. He grew up in Boys Town, NE.
During WWII, Don joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served 5 years.
He was a printer by trade.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Generose; 6 children, Donald Smith, Jr., Bruce Smith, Chris Smith, Gina McLaughlin, Ranie McLaughlin, Stephanie Flanagan and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four siblings.
Don will lie in state with a visitation to be held 1 hour prior to service Mon., Aug. 24 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
