Donita "Donnie" Jo Armstrong Newins, 66, of Topeka, passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2017. She was born August 10, 1950, in Horton, Kansas, to Ivan and Leone Ingels Armstrong, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Horton High School and Clarks School of Business. She was employed at Santa Fe Railway from 1969 to 1991.
On June 10, 1989, she married James "Jim" Newins, Sr. He survives. Other survivors include sisters, Ann (Darrel) Stelter, Blaine, Kansas, Karen (Mike) Bunck, Everest, Kansas, and Brenda (John) Graham, Topeka, Kansas; brother, Jerry Armstrong, Atchison, Kansas; step-children, Jim Jr. (Lora) Newins, Topeka, Kansas, and Mary Newins, Norwalk, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Dove Cremation & Funeral service, 4020 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66606. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3625 SW 29th Street, Suite 102 Topeka, Kansas 66614.
