Donna D. Eckrode, 87, of Topeka, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016. She was born February 22, 1929, in Grafton, Nebraska, the daughter of John Frederick and Mable O. (Foltz) Garrett. Donna was raised in Nebraska around the Grafton area and attended school there through the 10th grade.
Donna married Charles T. Eckrode on April 13, 1952 at Grafton. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1999. Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Groves, Kristy Eckrode, and Laura (Ken) Rose; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Donna was a homemaker, spending most of her time raising her family. She also worked part-time for Sears, retiring after 30 years of service. She was known as an excellent baker, baking homemade bread and cinnamon rolls weekly for her family.
A gathering to remember and celebrate Donna's life will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. in Topeka. Private inurnment will be held at Emmanuel Cemetery near Berryton, Kansas.
