Donna Jo Lewis

Donna J. Lewis, 74, went to her eternal Heavenly home on Thursday, February 10, 2022.

She was born January 21, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Don and Georgia (Coffey) Garrett. She graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1965 and received a certification in licensed practical nursing in 1994.

Donna was employed by the State of Kansas for many years until she started practicing as a LPN until her retirement in 2013.

Survivors include her four children, Larry Ballou Jr. of Topeka, Wally Ballou (Dawn) of Topeka; Davina Peter (Don Kotapish) of Randolph and Oneita Bohnenblust (Roger) of Riley; grandchildren, Kelcey Ballou, Nicholas Ballou, Levi Peter, Maeson Tindler, Shelby Peter, Lane Peter, Emma Bohnenblust, Ethan Bohnenblust, and Jordan Ballou; great-grandchildren Ainsley Peter and Axel Peter. She was preceded in death by both parents and brothers David and Donnie Garrett.

Donna enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, crosswords and getting together with family – especially her grandchildren's sports and extracurricular activities. Donna believed in God and the power of prayer for her family and those in need.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 17th, 2022 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel.
