Donna Lou Guffey

Donna Guffey, of Topeka, passed away peacefully at Midland Care's Hospice House on February 20, 2014 after a short illness. She was born July 7, 1935 to Jack and Elsie Crowell in Topeka.

Donna was a lifelong resident of Topeka and married Royal "Jim" Guffey on July 25, 1952 at Topeka. After 61 years of marriage, Royal preceded her in death. Donna was a loving, kind, and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who never met a stranger.

Donna is survived by three children, Sheryl Weigel, Overland Park, Kansas, Cindy Guffey (Harold Carter), Lawrence, Kansas, and Jimmie Guffey (Leona), Willow Springs, Missouri; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service in Topeka on March 1, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will precede the service from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St. #100, Topeka, Kansas 66614 or Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
