Donna Rose Turner, 81, Carbondale, Kansas, passed away June 13, 2010. She was born October 8, 1928 at Jetmore, Kansas the daughter of Floyd and Lola Proffit Sloan. She married Vernon Turner on May 7, 1949 in Hutchinson, Kansas. They owned and operated Turner Auto Salvage in Carbondale, Kansas. They were also active in the Arab Shrine. She was an avid reader and quite talented at oil painting.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and a granddaughter, Margaret Elaine. She is survived by her son Vernon Jr. and his children, Rachel, Shannon, Jeffrey, Daniel and Tressa; son Gary, his wife Nola, and their children Jennifer, Patrick, and Alex; son Don, his wife Abby, and their children Zach, Alisan, and Ashlyn.
A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1275 SW Boswell Ave, Topeka, KS on June 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St. Suite 100, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
