Donna Jean Wools

Donna Jean (Whitten) Wools, 72, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

She was born March 17, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Luther "Allan" and Margaret (Dagg) Whitten. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1965.

Donna was employed by Auburn Washburn School System as a Bus Driver for 40 years and also worked for Consolidated Water District 3 as a manager for 32 years, retiring in 2014.

Donna was a member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church, Auburn, KS and the Topeka Corvette Club. She was a past community leader in the Auburn 4-H.
Donna married LeRoy Wools on March 16, 1965 in Auburn, KS.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Wools of the home; her sons, Curtis (Tori) Wools and Jeff (Emily) Wools of Topeka, KS; her daughter, Lisa (Scott) Simmons of Topeka, KS; 8 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren; her sister, Linda (Ellis) Tucker of Auburn, KS and several nieces, nephews and host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Donna enjoyed traveling and sewing. She especially enjoyed the time spent with others in the Corvette Club, weekends camping at the lake and most of all entertaining and spending time with her family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Interment will follow at Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, KS.
