Doran L. Snook, 81, Topeka, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at a local hospital.
Doran was born September 23, 1934 in Topeka, the son of Clarence and Annie (Douglas) Snook. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1953.
He was employed as an Earthmover bead builder and Banbury helper at Goodyear for 32 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Westside Christian Church, Dover Masonic Lodge #138 A.F. & A.M, and U.S.W. Local #307 (Rubber Workers Union).
Doran married Loine Butner on June 28, 1953. His wife of 62 years survives. Other survivors include son, Michael (Marcia Jones) Snook; daughter, Lauri (Larry) Selby, all of Topeka; 5 granddaughters, Michelle Mahoney, Arin Zirkle, Megan Eisenbarth, Jenna Cochran, Kristin Cox; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Donald Snook, Douglas Snook, Eileen Thompson, Arlene Clark, Carol Jacobs, Jackie Myszka and Sharon Arndt.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Anna Mock, Barbara Merritt, Betty Warren, Mildred Andrews, William Snook, Dale Snook and Elroy Snook.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. 2016. The family suggest casual attire or wear your favorite team's shirt.
